• SMEA takes-off at CNHS

    In DepEd-Camiguin, the School Monitoring and Evaluation, and Adjustments (SMEA) has finally started to roll-out at Camiguin National High School (CNHS) on September 7, 2017.

    Focusing on school performance and drop-out of the school M&E system, Dr. Lailane E. Lopena, the chief of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) together with the school principal Mr. Raymond E. Sabunod took control of the reportage to the internal and external stakeholders of the school.

    Not just due to her being the SGOD Chief that Dr. Lopena did the reporting, but to show of her being on top of the school situation during her stint as school principal of CNHS in the first quarter of the school year.     

    No other than Dr. Roy Angelo E. Gazo, the schools division superintendent of DepEd-Camiguin, led the group of the panel of reactors coming from the members of the School Governing Council, municipal government, barangay chairmen and its council committee chair in education, and some external representatives of the School Planning Team.  

    Before the SMEA was declared in session, Dr. Gazo explained to all the stakeholders in attendance the importance of the Monitoring Evaluation and Adjustments technology in helping the learners acquire the complete basic education so necessary in the world of work, entrepreneurship, and college education.

    This MEA technology will be regularly conducted in all the public elementary and secondary schools to make sure that each learner is given all the opportunity to finish school at the right age.

    For being the first to conduct the actual SMEA, some of the school heads and Information Communication Technology (ICT) coordinators from both elementary and secondary schools have benchmarked on the proceedings of the reportage to the stakeholders.

    As witnessed, stakeholders showed appreciation of SMEA by being responsive in giving commitments to help the school address the existing problems it faces as sort of adjustments for the second grading period. 

    CSC Orients DepED Camiguin Employees on Enhanced Prime-HRM


    CAMIGUIN, (September 6, 2017) — Regular employees of the division participated in an orientation seminar on the enhanced Prime to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME- HRM) the whole day Wednesday at the Camiguin Highland Resort, Orasan, Soro-soro, Mambajao.

    The Enhanced PRIME- HRM is a program of the Civil Service Commission which aims to enhance the HRM competence of government agencies. This program has three A components — Assess, Assist and Award.

    The whole-day activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Director Allan B. Besario  in the provincial Office in CSC Camiguin. Dr. Bazil T. Sabacajan, in his welcome statement, said the activity was part of enhancing the knowledge of the department on Enhanced Program to Institutionalized Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Management – PRIME HRM Maturity level indicators through process assessment assistance and recognition of HRM systems, practices and competencies using maturity level indicators that are at par with global HR standards among regular employees in order for them to know their duties and responsibilities as part of the workforce of department. Sabacajan urged the employees to always do their jobs in a judicious way of working to maintain transparency in their work in the department as, he uttered, all of us here including the division chiefs, unit heads, and employees are all accountable to our own respective jobs.

    Besario, director IV of the CSC Camiguin provincial office, said the purpose of this activity as part of the program of the CSC was to elevate the maturity level of the Human Resource Management Office of the department to the next higher level.

    Besario said that based on the assessment, learned that their performance was classified in the transactional level, which is the basic step under the criterion of the commission. Through this orientation, the gap between the transactional level and the process define will be addressed, he added. Process define is the system of any agency with complete documentation to be used for their daily transactions. This system will also inform the employees who want to apply for higher position. They will undergo the recruitment, selection and placement procedure, which is documented, he pointed out. (JAMERO,E.C.)
